A well-established charity in London is looking for an experienced Head of Finance to lead its finance function through the next stage of its development.

The organisation

The finance function has been through significant change over the past year and is now in a much stronger position. With solid foundations in place, the focus is now on building on that progress, strengthening financial management and supporting the organisation's future plans.

The role

Reporting to a highly experienced COO, you'll lead a small finance team, overseeing the day-to-day finance function while also playing a key role in a number of broader projects.

With a finance system implementation, year-end change and significant capital programme on the horizon, there's plenty of opportunity to make an impact beyond business as usual.

Why join?

• A financially resilient organisation with strong foundations
• A supportive and experienced COO committed to developing the right person
• Genuine scope to shape the role and make improvements
• Exposure to significant finance and organisational projects
• A mission-driven environment where finance has clear visibility and influence

What you'll be doing

• Overseeing management accounts, budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting
• Leading, developing and supporting the finance team
• Supporting the annual audit and statutory accounts process
• Playing a key role in selecting and implementing a new finance system
• Managing cashflow and supporting effective treasury and investment management
• Partnering with teams across the organisation, including fundraising and operations
• Improving financial processes, reporting and visibility across the charity

What they're looking for

• A proven finance leader with strong technical grounding across management and statutory accounts
• Experience managing and developing a finance team, including through periods of change
• Previous involvement in a finance system implementation
• Charity or not-for-profit sector experience is strongly preferred
• Someone confident, hands-on and comfortable working with autonomy
• A proactive approach and the ability to balance day-to-day delivery with wider improvement projects
