An ambitious, high-performing and values-led organisation is seeking to appoint a Head of Finance on a permanent basis. This role will play a central part in ensuring financial sustainability, driving operational excellence, and enabling long-term strategic ambitions.

The Role

  • Partner with senior leadership and the governing body to develop and deliver a long-term financial strategy aligned to growth objectives
  • Lead all aspects of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, ensuring strong financial control and sustainability
  • Take ownership of a significant transformation agenda, including systems implementation, process optimisation, and operational redesign
  • Provide strategic oversight of financial systems development, ensuring robust governance, due diligence, and stakeholder engagement
  • Act as a key advisor to senior stakeholders, auditors, and external bodies
  • Drive value for money through effective procurement, contract negotiation, and cost optimisation
  • Lead and develop the finance function, fostering a high-performing and collaborative team culture
  • Contribute to wider organisational leadership, with oversight of linked operational areas
  • Identify opportunities for income generation, funding, and financial innovation

Essential Criteria

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent)
  • Proven experience in a senior finance leadership role within a complex organisation
  • Strong track record in financial strategy, planning, and reporting
  • Experience managing large, multi-million-pound budgets
  • Demonstrable experience leading transformation initiatives (systems, operations, or organisational change)
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at senior level
  • Commercial mindset, with the ability to drive efficiencies and identify funding opportunities
  • Collaborative and adaptable leadership style aligned to a values-driven culture
