The Role

As a senior member of the Finance team, you will lead financial reporting, oversee the full budget cycle, and ensure strong financial control across both capital and revenue activities—including a significant development programme.

You will manage a small team and act as a trusted Finance Business Partner, supporting and challenging stakeholders to ensure the organisation remains financially strong.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the Lead Finance Business Partner to budget holders
• Deliver high-quality financial information to senior management
• Lead the budget-setting process and ongoing performance reporting
• Support managers in business case development
• Oversee accounting for capital expenditure
• Lead the year-end process and manage external audit
• Prepare statutory financial accounts
• Manage and develop a team of four finance staff

About You

You’re ready to step up, lead, and grow into a future Head of Finance role.

Essential Requirements

• Qualified CCAB or CIMA Accountant
• At least 2 years’ experience leading financial and management accounts
• Proven experience managing and developing staff
• Strong experience producing statutory accounts from trial balance
• Hands-on, proactive approach
• Ability to obtain a basic DBS check

Desirable Skills

• Experience within the housing sector
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
• Knowledge of VAT and partial exemption
• Experience developing staff towards professional qualifications
