What you’ll do as the Financial Controller:
- Lead group year-end reporting, the statutory audit, and high-quality trustee reporting.
- Embed strong financial controls, policies and processes, driving continuous improvement.
- Play a key role in finance system implementation and increased automation.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor, providing accounting expertise across the organisation.
- Deliver timely, insightful management accounts for a growing housing subsidiary.
- Oversee month-end close, reconciliations, payroll and transactional finance with confidence.
- Represent finance at internal forums, influencing decision-making at a senior level.
What you’ll need:
- A full recognised accounting qualification (or be in the final stages).
- Strong experience operating in a robust internal control environment, with ownership of month-end and/or year-end processes.
- Proven ability or desire to lead, motivate and develop a finance team.
- Excellent relationship-building skills, with confidence working across a senior leadership group.
- Experience in the charity, housing or public sector is desirable but not essential.
