We're exclusively partnering with a highly respected national organisation supporting providing vital support to a distinctive community and their families. With a diverse income base, a complex group structure and a strong financial position, this is an organisation with real scale, stability and an interesting finance function.

They're now looking for a Financial Controller to take ownership of the operational finance function and become a key partner to the Director of Finance. This is a rare opportunity to inherit an established team while still having plenty of scope to improve how finance operates, particularly following the recent implementation of Sage Intacct.

What you'll do:

• Lead the finance team and oversee the month-end and management accounts process.
• Own key reconciliations, controls and financial reporting across the organisation and its subsidiaries.
• Support the Director of Finance through year-end and external audit.
• Lead on variance analysis and work with budget holders to understand financial performance.
• Oversee operational areas including payroll, VAT, insurance and risk reporting.
• Drive further improvements to processes, reporting and the use of Sage Intacct.

What you'll bring:

You'll be an experienced Financial Controller or Financial Manager with a strong technical accounting background and previous experience leading a small, diverse finance team.

We're particularly interested in people who are confident, pragmatic and curious about systems and process improvement. You'll enjoy taking ownership, building strong relationships across an organisation and finding ways to make finance more effective.

Professional qualification is preferred, but strong qualified-by-experience candidates will be considered. Charity experience is not essential.
