A well-respected housing organisation is looking for a fully qualified Financial Accountant to join their finance team in a key role based out of their central Leeds office. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone looking to make their first move from practice or someone with strong financial accounting experience in the housing or property sector.
Key Responsibilities:
Take ownership of month-end, quarter-end and year-end processes across the group
Prepare statutory accounts and support the audit process, working closely with both internal and external auditors
Manage the financial reporting for 2–4 subsidiaries, ensuring accuracy and compliance
Mentor and support junior team members, helping to upskill the wider finance team—no direct line management required
Play a key role in supporting core projects across finance, bringing a proactive approach to process improvement and driving more efficient ways of working
This is a hybrid role, with a mix of remote working and regular presence in the organisation’s modern central Leeds-based offices. You’ll be part of a supportive, ambitious team that encourages growth and collaboration.
Person Specification:
Fully qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) – essential
Strong technical grounding in financial accounting, audit, and month-end processes
Ideally from a practice background or with experience in the housing or property sector
Confident communicator with the interpersonal skills to mentor others and build strong working relationships
Positive, proactive attitude with a genuine desire to learn, improve and drive change
