Join a small, values-led organisation with a strong public sector connection and a collaborative finance team. This is a hands-on role offering real ownership of transactional finance, where you’ll play a key part in maintaining high-quality financial operations and supporting continuous improvement.
What you’ll do
- Take ownership of end-to-end transactional finance including sales ledger, purchase ledger, cashbook, and credit control
- Manage invoicing, income collection, and debtor management, proactively chasing outstanding payments and resolving queries
- Process bank reconciliations, credit card payments, and BACS runs, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Support the preparation of VAT returns, financial reporting, and audit requirements
- Maintain accurate financial data across accounting and CRM systems, while identifying and implementing process improvements
What you’ll need
- Experience working across transactional finance within an SME or similar hands-on environment
- Working knowledge of accounting systems (e.g. Sage) and experience using CRM systems
- Proven experience with bank reconciliations, payment processing, and credit control activities
- Strong Excel skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- A proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to work independently and communicate effectively
