Are you a commercially minded finance professional looking for an opportunity to make a real impact within a complex and evolving organisation? Do you enjoy partnering with stakeholders, producing insightful management information and influencing decision making? If so, we'd love to hear from you.

Robertson Bell is partnering with a well-established and financially secure organisation to recruit a Finance Manager on a 12 month contract. Following a period of strategic growth, including several successful acquisitions, the organisation is entering an exciting new chapter and is looking to strengthen its finance function with the appointment of a capable and ambitious Finance Manager.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality financial reporting, management accounting and operational finance support across a diverse organisation. Managing a small team, you will ensure the smooth running of core finance processes while supporting managers to make informed financial decisions.

The key responsibilities will include:

  • Producing monthly management accounts and supporting the month-end close process.

  • Monitoring budgets and providing insightful financial analysis to budget holders.

  • Acting as a trusted business partner to operational managers, challenging and supporting decision making.

  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns.

  • Supporting aspects of the year-end process, audit and wider financial accounting activities.

  • Leading, developing and supporting a small transactional finance team.

  • Supporting the Head of Finance with financial reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes, controls and reporting.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience producing management accounts and supporting month-end reporting.

  • Strong analytical skills and the confidence to build relationships with a range of stakeholders.

  • Ideally, some exposure to financial accounting activities, such as year-end accounts, audit or statutory reporting.

  • Previous experience managing or supervising staff would be advantageous but is not essential.

  • A proactive, commercially minded approach with a desire to improve processes.

  • AAT qualified, part-qualified or qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ACA), although qualifications are not essential.

  • Alternatively, this role would suit someone looking to make their first move from an accountancy practice into industry.

In return, you'll be joining a financially stable organisation that will continue to invest and grow. With a collaborative finance team, exposure to a broad range of stakeholders and the opportunity to influence both operational and strategic decision making, this is an excellent role for someone looking to develop their career in a varied and rewarding environment.

Applications are being reviewed as they are arrive, so please don't hesitate to submit yours now.
