Are you an experienced social housing professional with strong knowledge of rent setting and service charges? Are you looking to move into a role focused on quality assurance, governance and compliance, rather than preparing calculations yourself?

A well-established social housing organisation is looking for a Rent & Service Charge Quality Assurance Manager to act as the key quality gatekeeper across its rent and service charge functions.

You will review, challenge and approve work completed by the operational team, ensuring calculations are accurate, compliant and fit for release before anything reaches residents.

The Role

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as the final quality assurance point for rent setting and service charge calculations.
  • Reviewing calculations, identifying errors, inconsistencies and compliance risks.
  • Ensuring rent setting complies with relevant legislation, policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Reviewing Section 20 consultation requirements where applicable.
  • Challenging assumptions, investigating anomalies and directing teams on required amendments.
  • Ensuring residents are not incorrectly overcharged or undercharged.
  • Reviewing existing processes and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Developing and enhancing quality assurance processes and controls.
  • Working with teams across the organisation to ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Driving a right-first-time culture, reducing errors, rework and customer complaints.

About You

You will have 3–5 years' experience within social housing and strong knowledge of both rent setting and service charges, with service charge expertise particularly valuable.

You will ideally have:

  • Experience reviewing, checking, approving or quality assuring rent and/or service charge calculations.
  • A strong understanding of relevant legislation, regulation and housing policy.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • The confidence to challenge processes and make informed decisions.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently and interpret legislation and policy without close supervision.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone currently working in a Rent or Service Charge position who is ready to move into a more strategic role focused on governance, compliance, quality assurance and process improvement.
