Finance Business Partner

Salary:

£72,000 per annum (with flexibility for an exceptional candidate)

Location:

Hybrid working – 2 days per week in the office

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance Business Partner to join a well-established and values-driven housing association at a pivotal time in its journey.

Working closely with the Finance Director, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality financial planning and business partnering across the organisation. This is a highly visible role that will influence strategic decision-making through robust budgeting, forecasting and insightful management reporting.

The organisation has successfully navigated significant sector challenges, strengthened its regulatory position, invested heavily in its homes and services, and continues to improve outcomes for residents. This role will be central to supporting that continued progress.

The Role

Reporting into the Finance Director, you will take ownership of the organisation's financial planning processes while partnering with operational stakeholders to drive commercial and strategic decision-making.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes.
• Producing high-quality management accounts and financial analysis.
• Developing and maintaining robust financial models.
• Partnering with budget holders to provide financial insight and challenge.
• Monitoring financial performance and identifying opportunities and risks.
• Supporting the oversight of repairs and maintenance budgets and forecasting.
• Producing reports and analysis for senior leadership.
• Continuously improving financial processes and reporting.

About You

We are looking for a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys partnering with stakeholders and turning financial information into meaningful business insight.

You will ideally have:

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification, although exceptional Qualified by Experience (QBE) candidates with significant experience will also be considered.
• Around 5–10 years' post-qualified experience, or substantial equivalent experience.
• A minimum of five years' experience working within the housing sector.
• Strong experience in budgeting, forecasting and management accounting.
• Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the confidence to influence stakeholders across the business.
• The ability to work autonomously while building strong working relationships.

Experience within a housing association of a similar size would be advantageous, although outstanding candidates from larger organisations will also be considered.
