Finance Business Partner

Location: South London
Salary: £52,000 - £59,000
Full-time | Permanent | Hybrid

We're supporting a respected housing organisation in recruiting a Finance Business Partner to work alongside its Customer Services directorate.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified finance professional who enjoys working closely with operational teams, challenging performance, and turning financial information into meaningful business insight.

Rather than sitting behind spreadsheets all day, you'll become a trusted adviser to senior leaders, helping shape budgets, improve forecasting and support strategic decision-making across a wide range of customer-focused services.

The Role

As Finance Business Partner, you'll be the key financial contact for Customer Services and associated commercial activities, providing high-quality management information, commercial insight and proactive financial support.

You'll build strong relationships with budget holders, helping them understand financial performance, identify opportunities and make informed decisions that deliver value for money and excellent customer outcomes.

Alongside business partnering, you'll take ownership of monthly management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, statutory reporting for a subsidiary company and mentoring a developing member of the finance team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce accurate monthly management accounts and financial reporting.
  • Partner with Directors and budget holders to support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
  • Analyse financial performance, identifying trends, risks and opportunities.
  • Provide commercial insight to support operational decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Prepare annual budgets and support the long-term business planning process.
  • Produce cash flow forecasts and monitor financial performance throughout the year.
  • Lead the production of statutory accounts for a subsidiary company and coordinate the annual audit process.
  • Maintain robust financial controls, reconciliations and accounting records.
  • Mentor and develop an Assistant Management Accountant.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement across the business.

About You

You'll be a confident communicator who enjoys building relationships just as much as analysing numbers.

You're naturally curious, commercially minded and comfortable challenging stakeholders while providing clear, practical financial advice.

You'll likely bring:

  • A recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
  • Experience producing management accounts, budgets and forecasts.
  • Strong business partnering and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to explain financial information to non-finance colleagues.
  • Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience supporting audits and statutory reporting.
  • Previous experience mentoring or developing colleagues would be advantageous.
  • Strong Excel skills and confidence working with finance systems.
