Robertson Bell is pleased to be partnering with a large, values-led public sector organisation to recruit a Finance Business Partner on a permanent basis.
Following a significant organisational change and growth our client is investing in its finance business partnering function to support strategic decision-making across the business. This newly created role will provide financial leadership to two key directorates, helping to shape long-term investment decisions, strengthen financial performance and deliver value for money across a substantial property portfolio.

The Role
- Partner with senior leaders, providing strategic financial advice and challenge.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and scenario planning to support long-term investment decisions.
- Analyse financial and operational data, identifying risks, trends and opportunities to improve value for money.
- Develop insightful management reporting to support Executive and Board-level decision-making.
- Provide financial oversight of significant asset investment and compliance programmes.
- Support the development of robust financial controls, governance and assurance across the directorate.
- Work collaboratively with operational teams to improve financial understanding and commercial awareness.
- Drive continuous improvement across reporting, systems and financial processes.
- Challenge data quality and assumptions to ensure decisions are based on robust financial information.

Working within a collaborative finance team, you'll partner with experienced operational leaders and help shape the future direction of a business committed to delivering high-quality homes and services to its communities.
Essential Criteria
- Part-qualified or fully qualified CCAB accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Strong experience in management accounting, budgeting and forecasting.
- Demonstrable business partnering experience, supporting senior operational stakeholders.
- Strong commercial acumen with the confidence to challenge constructively and influence decision-making.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial and operational data.
- Experience presenting financial information clearly to non-finance audiences.
- Strong relationship-building, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive, inquisitive and solutions-focused approach.
Desirable Experience
- Experience within housing, social housing and local government or another regulated environment.
- Experience working with large datasets, financial modelling or business intelligence tools.
- Experience supporting organisations through periods of organisational change or transformation.
This role offers an excellent benefits package and a hybrid working pattern, with two days per week in the office based in south Buckinghamshire.
