Finance Business Partner

Salary: £60,000 – £65,000

Location: London / Hybrid

Contract: Permanent

You already know how complex housing finance is. This role gives you the platform to do it properly.

This organisation is widely regarded as one of the strongest housing providers in the UK, and its finance team is central to that reputation. With high retention, long tenure, and a clear commitment to developing internal talent, this is a place where housing finance professionals build long-term careers.

Following a period of change and internal promotion, the focus is now firmly on quality business partnering, supporting services with insight, challenge, and financial leadership rather than reactive reporting.

You’ll work alongside experienced housing finance leaders who understand the regulatory, operational, and commercial realities of the sector and who value thoughtful, well-evidenced financial advice.

Why this role stands out

  • A finance team that genuinely understands housing complexity.
  • Senior leadership who listen to and rely on finance.
  • The opportunity to influence decisions that affect services at scale.
  • A stable organisation with a strong social purpose and commercial discipline.
  • Clear progression into senior finance and leadership roles.

The role

  • Produce monthly management accounts, including variance analysis, clear commentary, and performance insight for housing services.
  • Act as a finance partner to service managers and Heads of Service, supporting decision-making with practical, commercially grounded advice.
  • Lead and support budgeting, forecasting, and medium-term financial planning, working closely with budget holders.
  • Translate financial results into clear, non-technical insight that helps stakeholders understand performance, risks, and trade-offs.
  • Support the development of business cases, investment appraisals, and value-for-money initiatives.
  • Work with budget holders to strengthen financial control, cost awareness, and accountability.
  • Contribute to year-end processes, audit support, and regulatory reporting as required.
  • Identify opportunities to improve management reporting, finance processes, and ways of working across the wider business.

What you’ll bring

  • Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA / CIPFA).
  • Proven experience within social housing or another regulated environment.
  • Strong management accounting and finance business partnering capability.
  • Confidence balancing service priorities with long-term financial sustainability.
  • A collaborative, solutions-focused approach.
