What you’ll do

  • Produce management accounts, forecasts, and analysis that directly influence funding and resource decisions across government programmes.
  • Support budget holders and senior leaders with clear, practical financial guidance, helping you build strong relationships and visibility at senior levels.
  • Lead financial planning projects, including scenario modelling and efficiency reviews, giving you the chance to broaden your strategic and analytical skills.
  • Ensure reporting complies with government frameworks and deadlines, strengthening your technical credibility in a highly regulated environment.
  • Work with auditors and internal teams to improve financial processes, leaving a lasting impact on how finance supports the wider organisation.

What you’ll need

  • Strong experience in management accounting or finance business partnering within government or the wider public sector.
  • Confident Excel and analytical skills, with the ability to turn complex data into clear insight.
  • A proven track record in budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting in a structured environment.
  • The ability to communicate financial information clearly and build trust with non-finance stakeholders.
  • An understanding of government financial frameworks, standards, and reporting requirements.
