 Finance Business Partner (FBP)

Location: London | Working Pattern: Flexible/Hybrid | Salary: £50,000–£60,000

This is an opportunity for a Finance Business Partner who wants to be genuinely embedded in the business and influence real outcomes. Working within a social housing environment, you will partner closely with operational teams, support better decision-making, and play a visible role in improving financial performance while maintaining a healthy work–life balance.

What you’ll do

  • Act as a true Finance Business Partner to service and operational teams, embedding finance into day-to-day decision-making rather than operating as a back-office function.

  • Provide clear, practical financial advice to non-finance colleagues, helping them understand cost drivers, risks, and opportunities.

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and reforecasting, working closely with budget holders to build realistic, well-controlled financial plans.

  • Produce and interpret management accounts and performance reports, translating financial data into clear insight and actionable recommendations.

  • Support business cases and option appraisals across housing services, maintenance, and development activity.

  • Challenge assumptions and support managers to improve value for money, financial control, and operational efficiency.

  • Build strong, credible relationships across the organisation, becoming a trusted adviser and first point of contact for financial matters.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of financial processes, reporting, and ways of working.

What you’ll need

  • Experience in a Finance Business Partnering role within a social housing provider.

  • Fully qualified (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or actively studying towards a professional accounting qualification.

  • Strong business partnering capability, with the confidence to challenge, influence, and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Solid understanding of management accounting, budgeting, and forecasting.

  • Excellent communication skills, able to explain financial information clearly to non-finance colleagues.

  • Strong analytical skills and good Excel capability.
