Join a leading Multi Academy Trust at a pivotal time in its evolution.
As a Finance Business Partner, you’ll support a group of academies across the East Midlands – driving performance, improving financial understanding, and helping school leaders make confident, informed decisions.

With a refreshed Executive team, a modernised finance model, and ambitious growth plans, this is a fantastic opportunity to bring structure, clarity, and strategic focus to a high-performing education environment.

What you’ll gain:

Influence and visibility – act as the key finance contact for Headteachers and senior leaders, providing trusted insight that shapes both strategy and day-to-day delivery.

Development and ownership – take the lead on forecasting, budget setting, and performance reporting across multiple schools, with the autonomy to shape and embed new processes.

Impact and improvement – help strengthen financial control, improve reporting, and drive financial literacy across the organisation.

Flexibility and balance – work predominantly from home, with occasional school visits as needed (typically once a term).

Attractive benefits – £50,000-£57,500 salary, 31 days annual leave plus bank holidays, and membership of a strong public sector pension scheme.

What you’ll do:

  • Partner with senior leaders to provide clear, actionable financial advice and challenge.

  • Lead on budget setting, forecasting, and monthly variance analysis across multiple academies.

  • Deliver accurate management reporting and support long-term strategic planning.

  • Communicate financial information clearly to non-financial colleagues, supporting decision-making.

  • Oversee payroll, reconciliations, and running cost evaluations, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

  • Attend leadership meetings and influence key financial decisions.

  • Support and mentor school-based finance teams to embed consistency and best practice.

  • Play a key role in strengthening financial performance and improving financial processes.

What you’ll need:

  • A fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent).

  • Recent experience within the education sector, ideally Multi Academy Trusts or Higher Education.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and build strong working relationships.

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to simplify complex financial information.

  • A collaborative, proactive approach and the confidence to work autonomously.

  • The ability to hit the ground running and deliver impact quickly.
