As a Finance Business Partner, you’ll support a group of academies across the East Midlands – driving performance, improving financial understanding, and helping school leaders make confident, informed decisions.

Influence and visibility – act as the key finance contact for Headteachers and senior leaders, providing trusted insight that shapes both strategy and day-to-day delivery.
Development and ownership – take the lead on forecasting, budget setting, and performance reporting across multiple schools, with the autonomy to shape and embed new processes.
Impact and improvement – help strengthen financial control, improve reporting, and drive financial literacy across the organisation.
Flexibility and balance – work predominantly from home, with occasional school visits as needed (typically once a term).

Partner with senior leaders to provide clear, actionable financial advice and challenge.
Lead on budget setting, forecasting, and monthly variance analysis across multiple academies.
Deliver accurate management reporting and support long-term strategic planning.
Communicate financial information clearly to non-financial colleagues, supporting decision-making.
Oversee payroll, reconciliations, and running cost evaluations, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Attend leadership meetings and influence key financial decisions.
Support and mentor school-based finance teams to embed consistency and best practice.
Play a key role in strengthening financial performance and improving financial processes.
A fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent).
Recent experience within the education sector, ideally Multi Academy Trusts or Higher Education.
Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and build strong working relationships.
Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to simplify complex financial information.
A collaborative, proactive approach and the confidence to work autonomously.
The ability to hit the ground running and deliver impact quickly.
