About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Financial Business Partner to join our Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality financial reporting, statutory accounts, budgeting and financial management across our subsidiary and joint venture companies.

Working closely with the Finance Reporting Manager and Director of Finance, you will help ensure robust financial governance, support strategic decision-making and contribute to maintaining the Group's strong financial position.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting

  • Prepare annual statutory accounts for subsidiary and joint venture companies, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Produce accurate monthly financial reports, including income and expenditure statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements and capital expenditure reporting.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process for subsidiary and joint venture companies, monitoring performance against agreed plans and reporting on variances.
  • Prepare comprehensive balance sheet reconciliations and undertake detailed financial analysis.
  • Produce and present financial reports to subsidiary and joint venture Boards, providing clear commentary on financial performance.

Financial Management

  • Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset registers for subsidiary and joint venture companies, ensuring additions and disposals are recorded accurately and promptly.
  • Monitor income, expenditure and capital investment, identifying trends, risks and opportunities.
  • Develop, maintain and improve financial controls, balance sheet reconciliations and accounting processes to support strong financial governance.

Stakeholder Support

  • Deliver a high-quality financial service to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide ad hoc financial reporting and analysis to support business needs.
  • Support internal and external audit processes, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and policies.

Strategic Support

  • Work alongside the Director of Finance and Finance Reporting Manager to support financial planning and strategic initiatives across the Group.
  • Contribute to cross-functional projects and continuous improvement within the Finance team.

About You

We're looking for someone who is analytical, organised and committed to delivering high-quality financial information.

You will ideally have:

  • A professional accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent), or be working towards qualification.
  • Experience preparing statutory accounts and management reports.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and accounting principles.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
  • Excellent balance sheet reconciliation and financial analysis skills.
  • Experience maintaining fixed asset registers.
  • Strong Excel and financial systems skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly to a range of stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of the social housing sector and commercial entities would be advantageous.
