Are you an experienced Finance Business Partner with a strong background in management accounting? Do you enjoy working closely with budget holders to provide meaningful financial insight and challenge? Are you looking for an interim opportunity within a large, complex charity where you can make an immediate impact?
A well-established charity is seeking an Interim Finance Business Partner to join its finance team on an initial 6-month contract. The role offers hybrid working, with two days per week in a Central London office.
This is a broad position combining business partnering, budgeting, forecasting and hands-on management accounting, supporting senior stakeholders across the organisation.
The key responsibilities of the Interim Finance Business Partner are:
Building strong relationships with budget holders and senior stakeholders, providing financial advice, insight and constructive challenge.
Leading the preparation and review of budgets and forecasts, ensuring financial plans are accurate and aligned with organisational priorities.
Producing monthly management accounts, including detailed variance analysis and commentary.
Supporting month-end processes, including journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations.
Monitoring financial performance, identifying emerging risks and recommending appropriate actions.
Developing financial models and analysis to support business cases, funding decisions and strategic planning.
Supporting improvements to financial reporting, processes and controls.
Working collaboratively with the wider finance team to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information.
The successful candidate will have:
A recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
Strong experience in both management accounting and finance business partnering, ideally within a large or complex organisation.
Excellent budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis skills.
The ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
Strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial systems and large datasets.
A proactive, organised approach with the ability to manage competing deadlines.
Previous charity sector experience would be advantageous, particularly exposure to fund accounting, but is not essential.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Finance Business Partner to join a large charity on an initial 6-month contract, taking ownership of a varied portfolio of financial responsibilities while supporting key financial decisions across the organisation.
