Are you a finance professional with a passion for housing and a drive to make a real impact? Do you want the flexibility of a fully remote role while taking ownership of rent and service charge processes, reconciliations, and financial reporting to support a housing provider with a unique social mission?

We are delighted to be recruiting a Finance Analyst - Rent and Service Charge for a respected housing organisation. This is a newly created role that offers the chance to shape housing finance processes, ensure compliance with sector regulations, and directly support the organisation’s mission of providing safe, high-quality homes for vulnerable people. With clear career progression, exposure to senior stakeholders, and a collaborative, empowering culture, this is the perfect role for someone eager to grow and make their mark.

In this Finance Analyst - Rent and Service Charge role, you will:

  • Shape rent and service charges – Support rent-setting for tenants, ensuring accuracy and compliance with housing regulations.
  • Lead on reconciliations – Review voids, recharges, and reconcile rent statements to maintain financial accuracy.
  • Support reporting and analysis – Assist with month-end processes, contribute to management accounts, and provide analysis on financial trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Manage cash and queries – Oversee monthly direct debits, allocate payments, and resolve income queries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Drive process improvements – Support the development of strong housing finance processes, streamline workflows, and strengthen compliance standards.

Why this is an exciting opportunity

This is more than a finance role — it’s a chance to join a housing provider at a pivotal moment of change. You’ll gain exposure to complex housing finance, high-value transactions, and sector compliance improvements, while being trusted to take ownership and deliver results. With clear progression opportunities into wider management accounting and financial analysis, this position is ideal for someone who wants to grow with the organisation and contribute to a meaningful mission.

The successful candidate will:

  • Bring experience in rent and service charge accounting within social housing (ideally within the last 5 years).
  • Hold or be working towards a part-qualified finance qualification (AAT or equivalent), or demonstrate strong QBE finance experience.
  • Be highly IT literate, with strong Excel skills.
  • Show strong analytical skills and the ability to interrogate data effectively.
  • Communicate confidently with housing officers, tenants, and local authorities.
  • Be values-driven, collaborative, and solutions-focused, with a willingness to roll up sleeves and get things done.

Based fully remotely, this is a full-time, permanent position, though part-time (4 days per week) will also be considered.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, so early applications are encouraged.
