Following an exciting period of transformation, this medium-sized charity is seeking a Director of Finance to take ownership of financial strategy, lead a talented team, and ensure resources are used to deliver maximum mission impact. As the number one finance professional, you’ll work closely with the Finance Director and executive team to drive sustainable growth and influence the organisation’s strategic direction.

What you’ll do as the Director of Finance:
- Set and drive the organisation’s financial strategy, ensuring resources are aligned to mission priorities and long-term growth objectives.
- Provide authoritative financial insight and challenge to the CEO, executive team, and trustees, shaping organisational decision-making at the highest level.
- Lead strategic planning, investment appraisal, and scenario modelling to guide key decisions on growth, programmes, and sustainability.
- Champion innovation across the finance function, embedding best-in-class governance, reporting, and data-driven insights to support transformation.
- Act as a trusted advisor on risk, compliance, and regulatory matters, ensuring the charity remains resilient and future-ready.
- Build and lead a high-performing finance team, developing leadership capacity and creating a culture of strategic impact and continuous improvement.
What you’ll need:
- A recognised accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Proven experience leading a senior finance function, ideally at director level in the charity or not-for-profit sector.
- Strong strategic thinking and commercial acumen, with the ability to translate finance into organisational impact.
- Exceptional leadership, influencing, and communication skills, with confidence engaging with trustees and executive teams.
- A genuine passion for mission-driven work and the ability to operate at pace in a dynamic, evolving environment.
