About the role

Are you a finance professional with an interest in systems, data and technology?

We are looking for a Assistant Systems Accountantto join our Financial Reporting team and play an important role in supporting the effective operation of our finance systems and reporting processes.

Working closely with the Systems Accountant and a range of internal stakeholders, you will help maintain finance system data, support system processes, resolve user queries and ensure accurate and timely reporting.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of finance, systems and data, and who wants to develop their experience within a complex finance environment.

What you’ll be doing

• Support the delivery of finance processes and reporting outputs within agreed deadlines.
• Maintain and update finance system data structures, ensuring information is accurate and complete.
• Process system transactions and day-to-day activities, including uploads and batch processing.
• Respond to and resolve finance system service requests and incidents within agreed SLAs.
• Carry out data checks, reconciliations and validation to support accurate reporting.
• Maintain system documentation, processes and procedures.
• Provide support and guidance to finance system users, helping them resolve queries effectively.
• Support system improvements and the adoption of best practice.
• Assist with the development and maintenance of finance reports.
• Support period-end and year-end processes from a systems perspective.
• Assist with audit activity and compliance requirements.
• Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and contribute to projects involving multiple teams.

We’re looking for someone who combines finance knowledge with strong analytical and systems skills.

• Supporting finance software or financial systems.
• Working with system upgrades, implementations, integrations or new system rollouts.
• Working with integrated financial systems and understanding how data flows between different systems.
• Identifying and resolving system and data issues.
• Analysing information and using a logical, problem-solving approach.
• Supporting change and helping users adopt new systems and processes.
• Communicating technical information clearly to non-technical colleagues.
• Working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders and delivering project milestones.
