An established and forward-thinking public service organisation is seeking an Assistant Management Accountant to join its Finance team. Reporting to the Finance Business Partner, this role provides high-quality financial analysis, advice, and management information to support a range of services in delivering efficient and effective outcomes.

The key duties of this Assistant Management Accountant will be:

  • Providing a professional financial and management information service across multiple departments.
  • Supporting managers in budget setting, forecasting, and performance monitoring.
  • Preparing, analysing, and interpreting financial data to support operational decision-making.
  • Delivering and participating in training to develop financial awareness among non-finance staff.
  • Representing senior finance colleagues on working groups and project teams as required.
  • Supervising Finance Assistants and Trainees, contributing to their ongoing development.
  • Promoting continuous improvement in financial management, governance, and value for money.

The successful candidate will be:

  • Actively studying towards a relevant accountancy qualification.
  • Experienced in financial management, ideally within a public or not-for-profit setting.
  • Confident in analysing complex financial data and producing clear, actionable reports.
  • Skilled in using financial systems, Excel, and data analysis tools.
  • Able to communicate financial information effectively to non-financial colleagues.
  • Organised, proactive, and motivated by continuous improvement.

Please note that this role is office based in Bradford, with opportunities to work from home on offer for up to three days per week.
