A well-established international charity is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join their finance team on a 12-month fixed term contract. This is a broad role offering exposure across the full finance function, supporting both day-to-day operations and core accounting activities.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Processing financial transactions across both purchase and sales ledgers, ensuring accuracy and appropriate coding
- Supporting payment runs, supplier set-up and maintaining strong purchase ledger controls
- Raising invoices and managing income receipts, ensuring timely collection and reconciliation
- Preparing bank, petty cash and balance sheet reconciliations
- Supporting the administration of expenses, credit cards and cash advances
- Assisting with payroll journals and wider month-end processes
- Acting as a first point of contact for finance queries across the organisation
- Supporting income reconciliation activities, including working with multiple data sources
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience working within a busy finance function, covering transactional and accounting duties
- Strong understanding of reconciliations and financial processes
- Good Excel skills and experience using finance systems
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to support non-finance stakeholders
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- A proactive approach with a willingness to learn and improve processes
