Robertson Bell is pleased to be partnering with this growing Property Development organisation, who are seeking a Tax Accountant to join their expanding finance team on a permanent basis. This newly created role will act as a subject matter expert on tax compliance and improving tax reporting processes, as well as assisting the wider finance team on both management and financial accounting.

The main responsibilities of the Tax Accountant include:

  • Full responsibility of ensuring all registrations and returns with HMRC are kept up to date and are filed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Review VAT returns produced by the Management Accountants.
  • Conduct detailed technical research for all up coming projects and joint ventures to produce comprehensive reports on all tax implications arising from new projects.
  • Act as subject matter expert on all tax related queries to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify processes improvements that can be made in the finance department and throughout the organisation to increase efficiencies in tax returns and reporting.
  • Provide all information required by auditors at year end.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant from practice who is seeking to make a move into industry. The organisation is seeking an ambitious candidate to join their team, who is keen to develop and learn within the role. They offer flexible working, with travel to the Portsmouth office required for key meetings and training.

The successful candidate will be:

  • A fully qualified accountant or finalist (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Experienced in tax advisory in compliance.
  • An intermediate user of Excel.
  • A confident team-player with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
