My client is a leading public sector organisation that is going through an exciting growth and transition period, who is looking for a Procurement Specialist to join their team in a role filled with development potential, that will primarily be based at home but with occasional travel to their West Midlands office.

The main responsibilities of the Procurement Specialist are as follows:

  • Full responsibility for a portfolio of projects and suppliers, building up excellent external relationships to ensure the organisation is gaining the best value for money.
  • Liaise closely with senior stakeholders throughout the organisation to ensure they fully understand any new procurement processes or procedures.
  • Use your initiative to regularly search for substantial cost saving potential across the organisation in order for it remains as cost efficient as possible.

The successful candidate for the Procurement Specialist role will have:

  • At least 2-3 years’ experience of working in a procurement focused role.
  • Ideally knowledge of Public Sector Procurement Regulations, e.g. OJEU, however, candidates without this are still encouraged to apply.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability and gravitas to challenge senior stakeholders.
