A prestigious and fast growing international development charity is looking for a Head of Internal Audit to join their high performing team. With the flexibility of frequent home working the Head of Internal Audit will provide risk based appraisals charity wide and take on responsibility for running programme audits on behalf of the charity. Reporting directly into the CEO and Board of Trustees, the Head of Internal Audit will be responsible for overseeing both the UK office and the programmes running internationally. This will largely focus on auditing donor funded programmes operating across the world with a focus on value for money and mitigating risk. Although the role can be home based, extensive international travel will be involved as visiting programme sites will be necessary (including, Africa, Asia and Latin America). Time travelling is expected to be up to 15 weeks per annum. The Head of Internal Audit will work independently, and will be responsible for planning, conducting and reporting on audits.
The successful candidate will be either IIA or CCAB qualified and will have significant senior internal audit experience. Ideally the right candidate will be able to demonstrate a passion for the international development sector and an ability to pick up new responsibilities quickly. Excellent communication skills are essential and experience in an international NGO would be an advantage. The successful candidate will be able to identify areas of risk, plan, conduct and report on audits independently.
