Head of Finance – Property

My client, a leading central London based Property Development Company with a turnover in excess of £700m, an asset base in the billions and recognised as one of largest property developers in the UK. Due to a recent restructure, they are looking to recruit a Head of Finance – Property. This is a senior position within the organisation and will report into the Divisions Senior Directors.

The Head of Finance – Property is very much a business facing finance role. Responsibilities will include recruiting and managing a team of qualified accountants for the financial reporting of all property development accounts. You will be the person who drives the decision support function and leads on the service culture when dealing with operational/ commercial business units for the Group.

Main duties will include;

*Responsible for the provision of all management accounts, budgets and forecasts relating to the development accounting function.
*Develop, implement and monitor control systems, policies and procedures to ensure development accounting services and records are robust and secure, including joint reporting systems with the commercial team.
*Ensure that the accounting for all scheme developments accurately reflect the financial position of the development, whilst ensuring the commercial development team are informed.
*Lead, coach, manage and develop the extremely capable team, which has a mix of those already qualified and some studiers.
*Financial control for the delivery of new construction development in excess if £1bn

You must be working for a successful organisation in a role that has allowed you to pick up the requisite amount of experience needed to enable you to succeed in this role. As previously stated, how you communicate finance to a non- finance audience is key, as is having significant leadership experience. You will be a fully qualified and have strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport in a warm and engaging, approachable but challenging manner.
