Robertson Bell is currently working with St Nicholas Hospice Care, a highly regarded independent charity providing comprehensive and innovative end of life healthcare and support for the communities in West Suffolk and Thetford. They are currently developing an approach to ensure everyone has the best experience possible in the final chapters of their lives and ensure financial sustainability and the Financial Controller position will play a huge role in their ability to deliver this approach.
This new and exciting role of Financial Controller is to provide inspirational and operational leadership to the Finance function, delivering the full spectrum of financial activities.
To respond effectively to future challenges and opportunities, work needs to be based upon robust foundations and best practice provision. This will involve developing the tools for the team and budget holders to do their jobs well whilst enabling and facilitating innovative projects. The person will also work closely with the wider organisation, build strong internal relationships to ensure the effective management of financial resources and deputise for the Finance Director.
We are looking for someone who has a genuine interest in working for an organisation that really makes a difference, but who fundamentally wants to add value and take on a role that will demand a commercial awareness. This position could suit an extremely strong candidate coming from practice, but would also be a good fit for someone with experience of producing statutory and management accounts in either a not for profit or commercial organisation.
