Robertson Bell is pleased to be partnering with this Public Sector organisation, based in Leicester who are seeking a Financial Accountant to join their finance team on a permanent basis. In addition to statutory reporting, this role will focus on the treasury management of the organisation, with excellent training and development opportunities, this role will 

The main responsibilities of the Financial Accountant – Treasury include:

  • Support the Treasury Manager with the statutory reporting, helping to produce the statutory accounts, focusing particularly on Treasury notes.
  • Lead on the creation of budgets for interest payments, cash flow forecasts, and monitor variances on a monthly basis. 
  • Responsible for maintaining robust financial controls within treasury, policing workflows, and ensuring compliance.
  • Complete daily bank reconciliations and maintain accurate cash books.
  • Produce relevant journals and calculations on hedge effectiveness, working closely with advisors and external doctors on best practice.
  • Support month-end and year-end duties with accurate postings to the GL.

The successful candidate will be:

  • Part Qualified and actively studying towards ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent.
  • Experienced in financial accounting, with strong skills in cash flow forecasting.
  • An intermediate user of excel skills.
  • Have demonstrable track record of being a strong team player and an excellent communicator.
