My client is a Leicester based charity who are currently seeking a Finance Assistant to join their team on a permanent basis in this newly revised role. Reporting into an enthusiastic Finance Manager, this is a brilliant opportunity for someone in the early stages of their finance career who is looking to further their knowledge in a role that offers excellent on the job training and potential for progression in the future.

The key duties of this role are as follows:

  • Full responsibility for managing the payroll process, from collecting all of the relevant information from a variety of stakeholders, to processing journals and liaising without the outsourced payroll provider.
  • Ensure that all purchase invoices have been processed correctly and payments are made in a timely fashion.
  • Upload all invoices onto the system and ensure the coding is accurate.
  • Obtain all necessary invoice authorisation from relevant stakeholders across the organisation and its subsidiaries.
  • Manage all aspects of the sales ledger, raising invoices where required and posting them into the system.
  • Business partner with a variety of internal and external stakeholders across the charity to support on all invoice and payroll related queries.

This role is for a dynamic organisation and offers a fantastic opportunity for someone who has some experience in a transactional finance role who is now looking for a new challenge. Although this role will be home based initially, candidates must live within a commutable distance from their offices in central Leicester.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Started studying towards a relevant accountancy qualification.
  • Proven experience of working in a similar finance role.
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of double entry.
  • Previous experience working with spreadsheets in Excel.
  • Strong communication skills.
