Robertson Bell are working with Fight for Sight to find an experienced Director of Finance & Resources to play a key role in the Senior Management Team (SMT) and work with this impressive charity to achieve its objectives.
The Director of Finance & Resources will work closely with the Chief Executive, Director of Research, Policy & Innovation and the Director of Marketing & Development to deliver the charity’s people and finance strategy. Playing a pivotal role internally, the post holder will assist in decision making across the charity. Key responsibilities of this role will include:
*Working with the Trustees, Chief Executive and the SMT to develop and implement organisational strategy;
*Delivering financial evaluation of key projects and initiatives;
*Delivering the charity’s budgets and operational plans and developing and using KPIs to monitor performance;
*Managing a strong finance team to oversee the production of monthly management accounts and information;
*Preparing and planning for the annual audit and producing the annual accounts;
*Managing outsourced functions including payroll, pensions, legal and IT;
*Developing HR policies and procedures and overseeing the recruitment of new staff and retention initiatives;
*Acting as Company Secretary; and
*Managing an office manager responsible for facilities management.
The Director of Finance and Resources will be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA) who has experience operating at director level within a not for profit organisation. With a strong HR element, the successful candidate will have experience being hands on with this function. We are looking for able and confident communicators who enjoy building strong relationships internally and can act as a senior business partner within the organisation – taking responsibility for delivering strong financial guidance throughout. This role would suit someone with strong technical skills who has the ability to prioritise and manage expectations, who can meet the needs of internal stakeholders whilst maintaining focus on strategic objectives.
