Join a purposeful housing organisation at a pivotal time in its transformation. As Assistant Finance Business Partner, you’ll play a key role supporting a finance function that’s modernising systems, strengthening processes, and driving performance across both housing and care operations.

With a new financial system being implemented and a refreshed structure taking shape, this is an exciting opportunity to bring structure, curiosity, and calm to a busy finance environment — contributing to work that makes a genuine impact in people’s lives.

What you’ll gain

A great route to becoming a fully qualified Finance Business Partner – gain hands-on experience across management accounts, forecasting, and financial reporting while developing the skills, confidence, and exposure needed to progress. The organisation is a Gold Standard ACCA employer, offering full study support for AAT, CIMA, or ACCA qualifications.

You’ll work closely with senior leaders and the Finance Business Partnering team to enhance reporting, improve processes, and ensure finance effectively supports strategic objectives. You’ll also benefit from hybrid working with two days in the office each week, flexible working hours (30–36 per week), and the option of a nine-day fortnight giving you every other Friday off.

Alongside a generous pension contribution, a healthcare plan, and family-friendly policies, you’ll join a collaborative, approachable team where managers are relaxed, encouraging, and genuinely invested in your development.

What you’ll do

  • Support the production of monthly management accounts, including reconciliations, accruals, and prepayments

  • Assist with budgets, forecasts, and performance reports for housing, care, and support services

  • Maintain data integrity, identify discrepancies, and support process improvement initiatives

  • Partner with Finance Business Partners to provide meaningful financial insight and analysis

  • Contribute to finance transformation projects, including the implementation of new systems and digital tools

  • Collaborate with teams across operations, governance, and procurement to ensure finance adds real value

  • Support the development of a more efficient, future-ready finance function

What you’ll need

  • A solid grounding in finance, ideally with experience supporting management accounts

  • AAT qualified or working towards AAT (or planning to progress to ACCA/CIMA)

  • Strong Excel skills and confidence working with manual processes during system change

  • Excellent attention to detail and a proactive, adaptable approach

  • A collaborative, inquisitive mindset – able to listen, learn, and take initiative

  • Housing or not-for-profit experience is desirable but not essential

Interviews are commencing the week starting the 24th November.
