Tax and Treasury Accountant

Robertson Bell are proud to be partnered with one of the UKs largest charities to help them recruit to this newly created Tax and Treasury Accountant role. Reporting into the Financial Controller you will be managing a high performing team made up of five members of staff. This organisation boasts an impressively low staff turnover and offers extremely generous employee benefits. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established organisation during an exciting time. Responsibilities would include:

  • Overall responsibility of the tax and treasury function including the provision of all relatable services.
  • Act as the lead on all group tax returns and prepare Gift Aid and VAT returns for the group.
  • Develop and identify relevant tools to better operational areas.
  • Implement and roll out a treasury strategy focusing on a more proactive and effective service.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on all VAT matters.
  • Lead of cash flow forecasting and manage the development of a three-year cash flow model that supports monthly presentations and quarterly reporting.
  • Oversee all bank accounts ensuring sufficient funding is available to enable the organisations financial commitments.
  • Manage necessary process improvements allowing the organisation to continue moving forward.
  • Mentor, train and develop five members of staff ensuring relevant development opportunities are available.

This is a fantastic opportunity based in central London and is the perfect next step for someone with strong experience within tax and treasury. A previous knowledge of charity accounting will be desirable, but this is not essential.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be a qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA, CIPFA, or equivalent).
  • Have previously worked in a tax and treasury focused role.
  • Have staff management experience.
  • Be highly competent when reviewing and improving controls and processes.
  • Have excellent communication skills.
