Jacqui Bell recently spoke at the Career Nuggets Meet Your Mentor Career Seminar on behalf of Robertson Bell at the University of Greenwich to share her wisdom on searching for your ideal job. The event, “How to strategically position yourself for you to be head-hunted in the marketplace” supports the BAME (Black, Asian, and minority ethnic) community.
Founded by Morenike Ajayi, Career Nuggets aims to support BAME professionals in management roles across many industries to bridge the career progression gap in the BAME community. Morenike recognises that a gap exists despite the number of BAME candidates in middle management who contentiously put a lot of hard work into their daily duties. These same candidates sit numerous professional exams to gain the knowledge required for progressive roles but seem to peak at middle management and have been held back from reaching the pinnacle of their careers.
Jacqui shared some of her recruitment treasures from creating and enhancing your CV, the application process, and preparing for and being successful at interview.
Since the formation of Robertson Bell in 2007, and throughout her earlier career, Jacqui has used her
recruitment, training, and Directorship experience to support members of Robertson Bell’s own team, candidates, and clients with their personal development, career and goal planning, mentoring, training and coaching.
Now leading the talent management and training areas of Robertson Bell, and previously senior operational and talent development positions in two global recruitment brands, Jacqui’s industry experience is invaluable.
“As a business, Robertson Bell make a difference to organisations making a difference and I’m passionate about replicating that with our own people and customers.” – Jacqui Bell, Director, Robertson Bell.
A big thank you to Jackie of @robertson.bell who shared some great tips that can only come from years of experience in the recruitment business and having worked with dozens of the top non profit agencies. Here is just a taste…
